Living in a small town, I don’t have access to a lot of Indian veggies. But that is kind of good actually, once I get over my initial reaction of – ” Oh my god! The same vegetables again this week!” I have to genuinely try to cook veggies differently to stop myself from getting bored of the same food 😀 Last week that repeat vegetable was zucchini – hence this recipe is up on the blog!

Oats Bisibelebath (Savory Oats Lentil Porridge)
Bisibelebath is a spicy porridge made using rice and lentils. It is quite popular in my home state of Karnataka. In fact, almost every single restaurant has bisibelebath on the menu and that too for breakfast!
Hara Bhara Kabab with Raw Banana (Plantains)
For as long as I remember, if some restaurant happened to have hara bhara kabab on their menu, I would never miss ordering them. Somehow the color, crunch and taste of these kababs is unbeatable! I have another variant of this Hara Bhara Kabab already on the blog – Check it out!
In this recipe, I have introduced plantains into the recipe. Plantains act like good binding agents and wonderfully complement the other veggies here. I totally skipped the deep frying part and opted to just cook these on a skillet with a little oil. Trust me – these are still as crunchy and tasty as the original kababs. Don’t take my word for it – give this recipe a try! 20 min and you will have this all ready at the dinner table 🙂

Microwave Savory Oats Stir-Fry (Oats Upma)
Back after a break from Thanksgiving! Whenever I travel it is harder to eat healthy – so I was thinking of something easy that I can put together and prepare in a microwave. This recipe is perfect for that. All you need is a few basic ingredients and breakfast will be ready in minutes. This is the answer to busy weekday no-time-for-breakfast issue 🙂 🙂
Sweet Potato and Methi (Fenugreek) Theplas (Whole Wheat FlatBread)
Do you have that one vegetable that you have always wanted to try? For me, that vegetable is sweet potato. I try a sweet potato recipe once in way and can never decide if I like the vegetable enough to feature that dish regularly! In fact, I have just one recipe up on the blog using sweet potato – it’s one of my all time favorite Mexican inspired lentil sweet potato tacos. That recipe is an exception – I make it often 🙂
