Oats Wheat Dosa (With Avocado!)

Dosa is again one of the most common breakfast dishes that any South Indian is used to! If you are new to Indian food, a dosa is a crepe generally made of rice and lentils! Most restaurants boast of a number of dosa varieties – mostly modifications of the same batter 😄. I love the crispy variety of dosa with some spicy chutney on the side!!

Avocado Flatbread stuffed with Tofu

Recently I have been reading a lot about food fads and myths! I am not sure how I got hooked onto this 🙂 So one of the things that came up was that eating good fats kind of plays a good role in weight loss! I am not a nutritionist to go into lots of details here, but the long and short of it is that incorporating some good fats might be healthy! And stuff like olive oil, avocados, different nuts, tofu, etc are loaded with healthy fats.

Oats Buckwheat Paniyaram/Paddu

Paniyaram/ Paddu is a popular south indian dish. It is traditionally made from rice and black lentils. It is actually cooked in a special mould! Although the batter used is similar to the one used for making rice crepes or dosa, cooking it in this special mould transforms it into a whole new equally delicious dish 🙂 This is a bite-sized snack that goes well with any side like a spicy chutney or sauce.

Cauliflower (Gobhi) Tofu Stuffed Quinoa Flatbread/Paratha

When I first started using quinoa I was amazed at how easily I could take a traditional Indian dish and give it a quinoa-twist! This made me fall in love with this grain. Hence, I have been experimenting with quinoa and you will find plenty of quinoa recipes on my blog :). For people new to Indian cooking, parathas are a kind of Indian flat bread. If you have been to Indian restaurants you must have noticed that the menu has a whole bunch of different breads! Paratha is a flat bread that can also be stuffed with veggies. Most common varieties of paratha are ones with potato or cottage cheese (paneer) filling. I have tried to add a healthy twist to this traditional recipe here.
